Zoran Cardula is a Macedonian designer and visual artist with over 25 years of experience in visual storytelling. Born in Kruševo, North Macedonia, he initially trained as an electrical engineer but found his passion in design. Deeply influenced by the bold aesthetics of Yugoslav-era graphics, his work blends elements of Soviet modernism and Western commercial styles, creating a unique visual language.
His portfolio spans posters, branding, and commercial illustration, with standout projects including a Star Wars-inspired reimagination of Yugoslav WWII monuments and Art Deco-style advertisements for Macedonian brands. He has also modernized over 400 historic Yugoslav logos, preserving their legacy while reintroducing them to a modern audience. Cardula has worked with brands like Swarovski, Atlas Games, and leading Balkan companies, and his work has been exhibited across Europe and the USA.
Now based in Skopje, he works as a freelancer while teaching poster design at two educational centers. His art explores themes of identity, history, and cultural memory, particularly the evolving narrative of socialism in the Balkans. Through his designs, he reclaims overlooked elements of the past, using visual storytelling to connect tradition with modernity.
