JEROME FAVRE
SIDE EYES
#ARTIST066 | FRENCH
Jérôme is a French street photographer living in London, specialising in street and travel photography as well as urban portraits. The multi-award winner is renown for his atmospheric images, perfectly capturing the mood within varying cultures and settings.
One of his photography series, titled Peckhamites, features photos of strangers taken around the area. Jerome worked for over a year with Copeland Park documenting some of the events that take part in the South-East London spot. His goal was to document the rapidly-changing population of Peckham at the time, and the aim was to create disarmingly honest portraits.
Another of his superbly shot and thought-provoking pieces is he recent book release ‘No One Likes Us’, an immersive photo-documentary inside the world of Millwall Football Club. It's a fresh look at Millwall supporters that re-evaluates their reputation in contemporary football culture. It chronicles the past five years of the club’s ambience and was first inspired by the connection Favre saw in Millwall to his own boyhood club, RC Lens, in Northern France.
