1 - At 13am, we aim to celebrate and showcase a broad range of creative roles, disciplines and skillsets. How would you describe yourself and your role within the creative world to those unfamiliar with your work?
I would describe myself as a simple, broad-minded, and artistically literate individual. I really enjoy admiring and comparing my work to that of others.
2 - Another aspect that sets 13am apart is our commitment to diversity and representation among our artists. Could you share a bit about your background and where you call home?
I live in Rome, what else can I say? I think I am very lucky because I just step outside my home and find ruins in outstanding parks. I consider it a great fortune and feel blessed for that.
3 - How would you define your artistic style? Has it evolved or undergone any changes over time?
I would call it grunge—very dirty, very messy, and scratchy. I’ve always had this kind of cluttered style, from my earliest works.
4 - Can you walk us through your creative process? How do you transform an idea into a tangible piece of work?
I generally start with something I have seen, maybe in a movie, a TV series, or often even from everyday experiences. I try to use my eyes a lot; to understand is to see.
5 - In terms of inspiration, where do you go to find this? Who were your main influencers and inspirations as you were growing up?
I studied art history in college and school, so I’ve been fascinated by it forever. My first inspirations began with the Renaissance and the discovery of perspective, which was a turning point in architecture. From there, everything evolved. For more modern inspirations, I love neorealism, surrealism, and pop art. Let’s just say I like art in general.
6 - What advice would you offer aspiring artists looking to establish themselves in the industry?
I would say, don’t do it, lol. Just kidding, of course. I always say to follow what you love. It is important because if you love what you do, you will never get tired of it. This key concept is the basis for a peaceful life.
7 - Creative roadblocks affect many individuals in our field. How do you unwind and revitalize your creative energy? Are there any hobbies or passions you pursue outside of your work?
I generally like to be inspired by the things around me. Walking around and looking carefully at every detail inspires me a lot. Being able to see and reproduce a certain effect is very important for an artist. It’s about being fascinated by the little things that make a big impact.
8 - Reflecting on your career, could you share a standout project or collaboration that you consider a highlight? How did the opportunity come about?
I have worked for some brands in the automotive industry. I love cars, and being asked again by high-caliber brands was a great satisfaction for me. Apparently, the most popular channel now is social networking.
9 - Can you provide a little insight into your current projects and any upcoming plans you have in the pipeline? Is there anything we should be looking out for in the not too distant future?
I am studying game programming. It would be nice to keep evolving.
10 - What has your experience been like collaborating with 13am thus far, and what motivated you to join forces with us?
I thought it was an interesting project. I loved the graphic design right away, which is no small thing. For now, I have a lot of confidence and hope the collaboration will go forward.
11 - Looking ahead, what would be your dream project or client to tackle in the future?
A question I can’t answer. I’d like to return to the automotive industry.
12 - To conclude on a lighter note, imagine hosting a dinner party where you could invite four individuals, living or deceased, who would they be and why?
I would have a nice dinner with David Lynch, Kurt Cobain, Tim Burton, and David Carson for their unique touch in various art worlds.
13 - If you were granted the power of time travel, which historical event would you choose to witness firsthand, and what intrigues you about it?
Woodstock lol!
